Hey there! So I’m back with my final “Wear to Work” Post. I’ve been gone for a week and I’m still recuperating from my trip (pics coming soon). But I did want to finish up this mini series I started. So let’s jump right in, shall we?
Wearing skirts has never been my thing. However as my style continues to mature, I find myself gravitating towards maxi skirts and body-con skirts. I’ll leave the mini’s and bubble skirts to someone else, lol! I think both maxi and (appropriate) body-con skirts are perfect work place attire. As I’ve said before, it’s all in you how you style the outfit.
In the collage below, I styled a black pencil skirt with a flowy and comfortable top. Again, adding practical jewelry and appropriate workplace heels completes any look. I also styled a printed maxi skirt. I think with a cute/comfy mid-heel sandal, a basic tee and a belt, the maxi can be elevated to workplace attire. What do you think? Do you prefer the pencil skirt look or the maxi?
Another way to wear skirts to work is by wearing a pair of t-strap heels. I think t-straps are so dainty and feminine. With the right skirt, it does wonders! If you’re going to wear a shorter skirt to work, a t-strap heel just may be the way to go. Wearing a bold print to work is always fun, as long as it’s not too over the top. In the 1st look, I added nude accessories to tone down the outfit. I think the look is a prefect work to date/happy hour outfit. Don’t you agree?
The 2nd look includes a flowy abstract skit. Because the skirt has print, wearing a solid top works best. Also adding a patent leather tote or shoe makes the outfit look chic and polished. Can you see yourself wearing this look to work?
Lastly, I wanted to share two celebs who I believe wear skirts SO well. Both Kerry Washington and Jessica Alba know how to “wear” just about anything. I love Kerry’s leather skirt in the look below. It’s edgy and trendy, without being over the top. Her gold belt was the perfect finish! Jessica Alba played with color and print in her Ralph Lauren skirt and look great! Keeping things simple, she added a basic black tee, and what’s that…? A pair of t-strap heels! I love the look from head to toe and both are appropriate for work.
So with all the ideas I’ve thrown at you, I hope you’ve enjoyed my tips and collages. I’d love to know if any of the three “Wear to Work” posts inspired your workplace wardrobe. Until next time, stay fabulous and blessed! I’ll be back Friday with a new outfit post. Take care!
