Hello everyone! Yes, another week has come to an end and as usual I’m shouting, “TGIF”!!!! I hope this week has been good to ya!
I know I promised an outfit post today but last night, Darrius and I went to the Legends of Summer Tour (Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake) in Baltimore. We had a GREAT time, despite the rain towards the end of the concert, but I wasn’t able to snap pics of my outfit. We were trying to get there on time and whatnot so, I’ll use today’s post as an introduction to another new feature on the blog. This feature will be “Looks of the Week”. I used to do “Facebook Friday’s” which was basically me recreating looks of my fave celebs from my Facebook week. But now, I want to change the name and be more consistent. As I’m sure you can tell, I LOVE styling and creating outfits so this will be a permanent feature that you can look forward to every Friday! I may create looks for different seasons, trends, etc. but it’ll all be under this feature, and on Friday’s.
So, let’s jump in and take a look at 2 of my faves—Kerry Washington and Brandy. Kerry wore this look to a red carpet event and I just fell in love with the print of the dress. I’m a “print girl” so this dress is right up my alley! As a petite woman, Kerry knows how to dress her body and this front-pleat, Giambattista Valli dress is no exception! With a pair of grey Christian Louboutin pumps and a cute envelope clutch by Nancy Gonzalez, she dazzled the red carpet.

My recreated look shows 2 similar style options. Both under $100, the Zara and Freeluxury dresses are just darling. Both options are complete with nude pumps, $50 and under, minimal jewelry and clutches. Like Kerry, I added a soft colorful lip color, as well as a nude Butter nail polish. These looks for less can be worn day or night and are perfect for the end of summer!
Moving on to the ever so talented and stylish Brandy. She wore this casual chic look to celebrate actress Kym Whitley’s birthday. If you ask me, the hottest part of the outfit are her pair of Christian Louboutin Dafreak Pumps—love ’em but wouldn’t be able to walk in ’em, LOL! I also like her fitted blazer and light wash/distressed denim. She looked great and stuck with neutral colors, which I’m always a fan of.

In my look, I focused on the neutrals and paired a TopShop blazer with a TopShop cami/tank—very “easy breezy”. I decided to go with a longer necklace so I added the two-toned peals (from Macy’s) with a classic pair of studs. In keeping with the look for less idea, the $80 Aldo pumps were a must! They’re super classic and can be styled so many ways. Shoes like that are what I like to call an investment item. Topping off the look, I went with a nude lipgloss.
So as you can see, “dressing like” celebs is pretty easy and doesn’t have to empty your pockets. If you see an outfit you like that’s a little pricey, there is ALWAYS a less expensive option. If you’re interested in any of the items listed, click on the picture for more details.
As always, thanks for reading and until Monday, be blessed and stay safe! And don’t forget to enter my giveaway HERE! XO!
